Amagansett Sink

This custom concrete sink was produced to be placed within an overall assembly with weathered wood and patina brass metal to create a unique standalone piece. Although the sink design looks prototypical, it is actually very different from a standard ramp sink. In a typical Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete ramp sink, the slope is pitched towards the back of the sink where a linear slot drain conceals the hardware of the sink. Our design shown has the pitche sloping along the lengthwise direction to carry the water across the sink to a basin on the other side with a linear slot drain at the bottom of the basin.

While the monolithic concrete design looks heavy, it is actually a fraction of the weight of a standard concrete sink due to the Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete only being a thickness of 3/4 inch. This allows for a high amount of strength and durability for its lifetime of use.

Close collaboration with the millwork and metalwork manufacturers made this project a success for everyone involved and the client was overjoyed with the final product.
