The client came to us looking for a very unique board formed face for a boutique hotel in Manhattan. What made the 1,000 square feet of board formed Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete panels unique was that all of the seams had to be staggered, in addition to all of the boards being at different thicknesses to show variation in the look of the entire facade. Through our mold making and engineering skills, we were able to come up with a kit of standard parts that could be used repetitively in the facade to bring the cost down to what the client was looking for, while at the same time mimicking the random variation originally asked for.
